Introduction
In most cases, immigration took place in the United States due to very serious reasons. Immigrants left their homelands to get away from dangers such as wars, persecution, floods, and earthquakes. Some immigrants left their homelands to avoid army conscription. Others left their homelands to procure better jobs, schools, lifestyles, and to join other family members who were already living in the United States. Some immigrants were looking for adventure.

Freedom of religion and speech, good economy, lack of war, good educational systems, temperate climate, no military draft, having relatives in the US are some reasons why people choose to immigrate to the United States.

Many contributions made by immigrants to the United States resulted in new inventions and technology, advancements in scientific and medical developments, the enrichment of  culture in fields such as education, social programs, art, architecture, literature, cuisine, and advancements etc  to  business and national economy (Roger, 44-45).

America has taken in some 20 million immigrants, many from China and Asia, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and a few from Europe. Social scientists now know a great deal about the impact of this immigration.

The debate about Immigration in America is a weighty one. The issue of immigration is frequently used for political and economic advantage, often not considering the true impact the policies have on people’s lives. Although there are no easy answers when it comes to the immigration policy of the United States, much is wrong with America¹s system as it is now. Immigration has made America strong in the past. Immigration is essential to America¹s economy, cultural diversity.

Immigration is also important for the economic health of our country (Alejandro, 22). Having established the fact the America has historically feared the economic effects of new immigrants; studies indicate that a 10% increase in the number of immigrants admitted into the United States would decrease............
