Stephen Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th president of the United States and the only chief executive to be reelected after rout. Cleveland came up with a philosophy that a public office is a public conviction, and in his two nonconsecutive terms, he spent much of his energy resisting biased influences and the party prejudice feature of that era. As an outcome, he managed to affront more or less every opinionated group and to win the rage of a lot of private organizations and individuals as well. It is for his obdurate bravery and honesty, to a certain extent than for any exceptional accomplishment as president, that Cleveland is remembered. He was the only president to be elected again after suffering an electoral defeat flanked by terms. Before his election to the presidency, Cleveland had served as the mayor of Buffalo, New York, and as the New York state governor. Furthermore he spent the initial four years of his life in the rectory of the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell, New Jersey. Cleveland’s father was a priest. He was born in 1837, at Caldwell, New Jersey, the fifth child of Richard Falley Cleveland, a Presbyterian minister, and Ann Neal Cleveland. The young Cleveland attended the local school, and when he was 13 entered an academy in close by Clinton. The death of his father in 1853 removed any anticipation Cleveland may have had of attending college. To earn his individual way and contribute to his mother’s support, he went to New York City, where he worked for a year teaching at the state institution for the blind. In 1855 Cleveland decided to go to Cleveland, Ohio, to look for work; however he got no farther than Buffalo, New York. There his uncle, an affluent and generally prominent cattle-breeder, hired him to look after the herd books of his cattle company....................
