Essay on Mexican Political Party (PRI, PAN, PRD, PT or PVEM)
The famous PRI part is considered to be the official Mexican political party. It has been the country’s unsurpassed political organization since the 1929s and until the early part of the 1990s. The PRI party possessed considerable power, and was taken second only to the president. The president, however, holds the post of effective chief of the PRI party. However, not before the early 1980s, the PRI party's situation and status in the Mexican political system was more hegemonic. It assumed a monopoly position of public office and little or almost no threats were faced from the opposition parties to its power base. However, this scenario has changed much during the decade of 1980s. the opposition parties, belonging both from the left and right, started to raise questions and seriously began to challenge PRI candidates for the local, and state, as well as the national-level political offices.
The PRI political party was initiated and established by Calles in the year 1929, as the National Revolutionary Party or the Partido Nacional Revolucionario (PNR). PNR represented a very slack or informal confederation of the native political chiefs and the local military strongmen which were assembled together with various labor unions, or peasant organizations in remote areas, and the various regional political parties.
The basic structure of the executive organization is like a pyramid, the president of the Republic is the chief manger. The party is governed a president and a secretary general. They together administer the National Executive Committee of the top level mangers of the party. At the base, is the National Assembly, which holds meeting after every six years to review the PRI's platform, and also to officially nominate the PRI's candidate who would run for the presidency election. The National Assembly also has the authority to elect the members of National Executive Council.............
