The Civil Rights Movement was a mass struggle of the minorities in order to gain full citizenship rights for black Americans and to achieve racial equality and justice. The civil rights movement was the first political, social and legal challenge to the system of laws and customs separating blacks and whites.

The civil rights organizations challenged this system and discrimination with a variety of activities, including protest marches, boycotts, and refusal to abide by segregation laws. This struggle caused to bring about significant changes in the laws and social practices, which brutally segregated and suppressed minorities.

Background:
The Civil rights movement was an evidence of the Black American’s dissatisfaction and unhappiness with the American civil laws and became their voice against it. There are many events that took place during the years 1950 and 1960 that triggered this movement and eventually brought about a change in the civil laws in the form of civil rights legislation that was passed in 1964.

Even though there had been changes that came about after the civil war but the black Americans were still discriminated badly. During World War II, Black Americans were given jobs in army and other organizations and the discrimination was put a halt. After the War, they had become a central part of these growing organizations and thus became politically strong.
In May 1954, the brutal law of segregation was challenged to be unconstitutional. This resolution started out a mass association of Blacks, soon bringing into the struggle Hispanic, Asian, native, and white fundamentalists, some of whom had already been radicalized in the Peace Movement of the 1950-60s.

Events that caused The Civil Rights Movement:
It is believed that the movement began with the Montgomery bus boycott in 1955 when a black woman, Rosa Parks, was arrested for refusing to move to the black section of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.............
