New York’s mayor signed smoking ban into a law, which became effective from March 30, 2003. The law was put into effect in statewide from July 24, 2003 to stop smoking at all businesses and commercial places. The law banned smoking not only at nightclubs, bars, and restaurants but also at companies, parlors and bowling alleys. However, this provoked a strong statewide protest from smokers who want liberal and jovial place to live.
The question, whether I agree to this or not? My answer is no, but then “YES”. The ban actually doesn’t stopped people from smoking but they started on moving to other states where they will get freedom of smoking. People are protesting that they will simply not go to the places where they will not allowed to smoke. Other restaurants and bars boomed in business while ban was put in NYS. While those in NY has suffered a severe loss in their business. People are moving towards other places for spending tense free and relax time. Pennsylvania and other states are welcoming those exodus New Yorkers to make surge in their business.
Though, smoking has dangerous health hazards and has to be stopped at workplaces but apparently it does not relates any reasonable cause of banning smoking at bars and restaurants, the places for people to entertain and relax. But those people who smoke do relax by smoking while making nonsmokers un-relax. Smoking is the leading cause of deaths due to cancer of lungs, throat and mouth. It also increases the risk of developing cancer in pancreas, kidney, bladder and cervical region. Cancerous diseases developed because of excessive smoking are curable and preventable and may increase the life span. Therefore, it should be prohibited and prevented all over public places..............
