Essay on Human Factors In Aviation
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to initially pick a new technology and in order to fulfill this purpose I have picked "Eurofighter Typhoon" and then I have discussed the human factor implications involved in introducing this new technology.
Then later on in the second part this paper discusses the livewire problem in SHEL model and how it is solved by the Eurofighter Typhoon."
Euro fighter Typhoon
The latest technology that I have selected in the aviation industry is the Aircrew Equipment Assembly (AEA) "Euro fighter Typhoon."
Euro fighter Typhoon is the world's most capable and dynamic swing-role combat aircraft.
Developed by Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, the Euro fighter Typhoon will fulfill Air Force requirements well into the mid-21st Century. The aircraft is in full production and, having achieved Type Acceptance, the first of the 620 Euro fighter Typhoons planned for the four Partner Nations were delivered in 2003, and will continue to be delivered throughout 2004.
The Euro fighter Typhoon is the world's most advanced multi-role combat aircraft and this equally advanced aircrew equipment ensures that the pilot is physiologically compatible with the aircraft's agility and fully capable of maximizing the operational effectiveness of an aircraft that gives superiority to its pilots.
To survive in a present-day, hostile, combat scenario, all modern fighter aircraft must be designed with stealth in mind and some aircraft have been designed with stealth as the overriding design objective. In some cases this is undertaken regardless of the impact that this approach might have on other critically important features such as maneuverability, weapon payload and, more importantly, affordability....
