Human parts have human limits, including the brain, which is only capable of processing so many tasks at a time. So take a situation where highly-specialized and trained staff are expected to monitor, route and oversee thousands of flights each day in the United States -- a number that's expected to grow by up to 70 percent in the next decade -- and eventually someone is going to reach a state of overload.
