A Rose for Emily is a short story by Faulkner, in which the death of Miss Emily assembles the complete population of Jefferson. Miss Emily was raised in the era previous to the Civil War in the south. The story on the whole addresses the representative alterations in the south after the Civil War.

Her lover for a short time, Homer, portrayed himself as a guy who cannot be tied down and is at all times on the move. This leaves Miss Emily in a awful point.
