Essay on Collective Bargaining Agreement
The collective bargaining agreement allows employees to seek for improvements in wages, working hours and the working conditions. This is basically in the form of a contract which in return provides the employees with a platform from where they can voice their. However, it also leads to strikes many a times on the basis of employee rights. But again this may violate the organizations rules as the laborers may perform unethical activities. The agreement is provided under the Federal law and is in practice in a number of state laws, for both, industrial and governmental employment. There have been many situations in the history of labor men when they have been deprived of their employment rights. The reason for this was that there were no proper laws designed for the rights of laborers.
The top management has always been passing orders and the lower level workers had to abide by them. This is something which is followed by the hierarchy of management levels till date. But the workers did feel the need to have some say in the running of an organization or at least being provided with what they deserve. For example, a laborer who works very hard all day long and gets an average pay, would want to works in a good and healthy working environment. This way his productivity would increase and as well as his motivation level. Therefore this is the responsibility of the management to consider these factors and work on them.
