Essay on Windows "Longhorn"
Microsoft is often criticized for lack of innovation in their new product development. Going through this article published by Jay Green and then along with the other search articles it was clear that the features which Microsoft is offering in the Windows Longhorn (features on which it is emphasizing on) is similar to the Spotlight feature in Apple Computer's Mac OS X Tiger, which goes on sale later in September 2004.
Now the hype, which Microsoft creates in advance about its new products, goes in vain when the features can already be matched with its competitors. The reason why Microsoft has delayed the launch for the next two years is that now it wants to focus more on the marketing of windows Longhorn rather than the product itself, which is almost fully developed, and according to the latest news has been beta tested.
Now when there is a delay for the two years this has given an opening to the software giant's rivals, who are going after Microsoft as if it were an aging prizefighter. With every Microsoft misstep, their offerings become more attractive to both consumers and corporations....
