The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a global confederation of national standards bodies from more than 140 countries, one from each country. The ISO is a non-governmental organization established in 1947. The task of ISO is to endorse the growth of consistency and linked actions in the world with a view to facilitating the international swap over of goods and services, and to increasing cooperation in the spheres of academic, technical, scientific and economic movement. Companies' fulfillment to ISO standards are certified by third-party review and check organizations, such as QMI.
