Essay on The negative effects of lateness on academic achievement
There is no doubt that Coming late to class or leaving early negatively affects the student academic achievement. I believe being late for class might be worse than missing it. Coming in late disturbs the class. There's no reason for being late, but if it's inevitable, come in silently. Wait for the teacher to admit you, warm up and join in. Coming late to evade warm-ups is just not getting it.
A little number of pupils frequently enters late for the start of the day in every class. They often miss the beginning of lessons and this disturbs the flow of teaching.
Though the school often reminds parents of the negative effects of lateness and absence on their children's education some are slow to take action.
In numerous cases, the students that are late for class are proving lack of obedience and ill prepare for their school work. Numerous of them are usual late comers and will appear with whatever justifications for being late. Promptness to class is significant as it shows the echelon of a student's obligation and preparation for class. Being punctual to class as well shows student's reverences for the teacher and their classmates. Being late for school will illustrate selfish and disregard for the class. Class will be episodic by late comers and it is unjust to those who are never late to class.
Recent evidence clearly suggests that coming to school late is a multi-causal problem and that to understand the behavior, variables from multiple domains warrant investigating. These domains can be categorized as personal characteristics of the latecomer, family factors, and school factors. Much of the research on the problem of late coming has, however, traditionally focused on only one of these domains at a time. This implies that difficulty in only one area is the main cause of the lateness problem (Ellis, A. (1994). 8(3), 248-261).
