Essay on Manchu(Qing) Dynasty

The Qing Dynasty was originated by the Jurchen (Manchu) people, and was the second minority to rule the entire China. It is as well the last Chinese Dynasty prior to the development of a republic. The Manchus came from Manchuria. The Manchu warriors invaded China in the 1600's and took control from the Ming Dynasty. The conquest was made very easy for the Manchus because of the weak government that the Ming dynasty was providing, the poor Chinese armies and the several peasant rebellions that had took place while the Ming Dynasty was in charge. The invasion was most victorious because of the fall of Beijing. The Ming dynasty was shattered during/after the fall of Beijing. After the Ming dynasty fell to the Manchu warriors, the Manchus became conscious that the empire may be conquered from horseback, however it cannot be ruled from horseback.

To maintain the empire in good condition the Qing order sustained the Ming viewpoint and laws, and improvements made in previous dynasties. (Crossley, Pamela Kyle, 1990)The Jurchen people, thought to be the ancestors of the Manchus, had been an itinerant tribe that lived neighboring to the present Heilongjiang region. In the closing years of the Ming Dynasty, a great leader named Nurhachi, came into view from the Jurchen tribe. Under his leadership, the Jurchen people rapidly united and in 1616, founded the Later Jin State, which was independent from the Ming. In 1636, Nurhachi's son Abahai re-named the dynasty as Qing in Shenyang while officially declaring war on the Ming. In 1644, when the peasant army fronted by Li Zicheng conquered Beijing, Emperor Chongzhen committed suicide.

Wu Sangui, a Ming commander stationed in Shanhaiguan Pass, led the Qing army through the pass. With the help of Dorgan, one of his chancellors, Fulin, son of Abahai, captured Beijing in the same year and four months later, moved his capital there.......
