It is also safer and more affordable. When a truck costs $40,000, and a facelift is $8,000 to $10,000, cosmetic surgery is not really what it was 20 or 30 years ago. More plastic surgeons are turning to cosmetic surgeries for their main source of income these, days, rather than performing reconstructive surgeries that are time consuming and covered by insurance. In cosmetic surgeries it's a lot easier. The dollars are higher. Many have even dropped their prices in reconstructive surgery.
When you're doing insurance cases you have to have approval, then they (insurance companies) wait for six months to one year and won't pay what its worth. Many insurance companies, if you're not careful, it won't get done. They take a long time. Insurance companies don't pay. The general rule insurance companies follow is that if there is a medical reason for the surgery; it will be covered under reconstructive surgery. For example, a patient may need a rhinoplasty or septoplasty due to obstructive breathing. A second patient may want a rhinoplasty or septoplasty because he/she feels their nose is not perfect.
