Studies indicate that about 7 to 12 percent of U.S. students experience behavior disorders at some time during their school years.

On the other hand, only about 1 percent of all students obtain special education services for their problems. Others may receive services from community mental health agencies or they may receive private psychotherapy. Depending on the conditions, encouraging reinforcement can fortify either desirable or undesirable behaviors. Children may work hard at home or at school because of the praise they receive from parents and teachers for good performance. However, they may also disrupt a class, try dangerous stunts, or start smoking for the reason that these behaviors direct to attention and approval from their peers.

It is a class of behavior that disturbs or disrupts the classroom and interferes with teaching. Examples include: (a) being out of seat without permission; (b) moving or grabbing others' property; (c) nonconformity with teacher orders or directions; (d) beating, biting, unpleasant, or slapping others; (e) any audible sound other than vocalizations......
