Essay on Modern women
Women in the recent times are more apparent or visible than they have ever been in the past. They do jobs of much of the paid labor of the world and the jobs of majority of the unpaid labor class. Women also work majority of total number of hours in the world. However they are paid less than what men are paid. Women's role in the society and work place has helped to raise their profile in all sorts of ways. Women now work in factories, they have join offices, and they drive buses and taxis, now they even socialize outside their home and family and travel through public transports alone. Women even join unions and go on strike along with men.
Modern conveniences such as ready made clothes, nursery school and prepackaged food provide a lot of time as well as labor savings for women. However, they still spent considerable time in shopping, doing family accounting and driving their children to and from various places. Women because of increased innovation and technology, have more hi-tech gazettes at their disposal. They have more choice in how they want to carry out their family chores. As a result their roles have become more complex as oppose to their ancestors.
There is more importance and need for planning of child care, meals and purchases in recent times. Previously, women employed in offices were occupied in clerical occupations, which made up thirty percent of all the women working in those times. Moreover, service and private household workers comprised of the next two largest groups with over 6 million employed. However women in these professions and technical jobs were around 3 million. In 1960s alone around 15 million married women were part of the work force. It was during this time that women started to embrace two different roles; that of homemaker and that of wage earner......
