Essay on Managing Time and Stress
The purpose of this paper is to illustrate how to manage and cope with work related pressure. For the purpose of clarification I have given an introduction of how one feels stressed at work when over loaded with work and then in the second part I have given ways as to how one can cope and manage with the daily work pressures.
Introduction
There is a lot which one has to go through at time. At times there are busy schedules, overloading of work due to which one is unable to manage time properly and the work piles up. This is one of the major reasons why one faces so much of stress at work. It is being estimated that almost 6.5 million employees are affected by work related stress. The most stress prone are said to be teachers, nurses, managers and those professionals who have the sole burden and workload over their shoulders with the age group between 35 and 44.Stress at work is not due to the work pressure an employee can face but is due to the adverse feeling of pressure an employee faces. Stress itself is not defined as illness but yes if some employee is taking extra stress it can lead to many psychological and physical problems such as feeling nausea, headaches, agitated mood, backaches, sleeping disorders and excessive sweating.
On the other hand the psychological factors include feeling lower self-esteem and self-worth, anxiety, poor decision-making, mood swings, depression or feeling low, feeling out of control and even helpless at times, aggressive mood and irritable nature.When we talk about the work pressure, the stress level varies according to the work pressure involved. Employees who work long hours with overload of work usually goes through high symptoms of stress and is unable to manage time......
