Essay on Constructivism
Constructivism is a concept that is based on the observation and scientific research. It explains that humans build their own perception and awareness through experiences. Any fresh situation faced is reacted on the basis of previous experiences, ideas and beliefs. Humans create own knowledge and are observant and require answers to the queries. This concept is closely related with the learning in educational environments. The theory of constructivism has the largest impact on learning by students in class room setting. Constructive approach to coaching and learning is primarily derived out of cognitive and social psychology.
The bottom line is that the learner must develop its own knowledge and skills because the information exists within the limits of the developments and not in external environments. But when constructive theory is applied it appears that it is the individual’s building of motivation and stimuli out of the environments that has the domino effect to shape cognitive structures which fabricates the adoptive behavior and is not stimuli themselves [Harnard.S 1982].
Effects of Constructive Theory on Education
When the constructive theory is looked in depth pertaining to the classroom environments it is found that it can shape different teaching styles and practices. One thing however remains very obvious that the students are encouraged to use the contemporary techniques so that knowledge is created and it reflects on their results. The role of the teacher becomes extremely vital as that of a facilitator who guides them based on pre existing concepts.
All the situational variables, emotions and consequences play a major role in production of overt and adaptive behavior. Students find the technical developments as situational variables and they develop the attitude and mental representations for accepting the knowledge. The constructivism makes the children learn more and feel comfortable in gaining knowledge as it provides them with satisfaction as they get pleasure from learning.......
