While the number of single mothers (9.8 million) has remained constant over the past three years, the number of single fathers has grown 25 percent, from 1.7 million in 1995 to 2.1 million in 1998, according to tabulations released today by the Commerce Department's Census Bureau. Men now comprise one-sixth of the nation's 11.9 million single parents.
Similarities and Differences between single mothers and single fathers
One of the common differences between a single mother and a single father is that single mothers are usually paid less and due to which they have all the problems that a lower income family mother can face but yes even though they go through all these problems they raise and nurture their children in an excellent manner. On the other hand single fathers tend to be more economically sound because they are highly paid and are in a better position to provide their children with higher and excellent education.
