Hinduism and Islam are the two major religions being practiced today in many parts of the world. There are millions of followers of these two religions. The Hinduism is the third largest and the oldest religion of the world. Islam is relatively very latest religion and started some 1400 hundred years ago from the soils of Saudi Arabia. Both these religions have many similarities and contrasts particularly in beliefs and practices of the religions. The two religions are having different cultures and rituals. The customs in both religions are different and laws of both the religions are quite diverse.

Hinduism mainly is based on four religious Books called Vedas and other books including Bhagvagita [Mascro, Juan (trans) 2003]. Hinduism consists of many schools of thought and is developed from monolithic religion into multitude of traditions over a period of four to five thousands years. This religion has many rituals and many sects. Hinduism is the most complicated religion and contains a large number of activities that cannot be remembered even by the practicing Hindus. This religion believes strongly on the sectarian division of poor and rulers. Hundreds and thousands of deities being manifestation of one supreme god called Brahman are venerated in this religion. Hinduism does not except conversion and is guided by the religious leaders. Hindu philosophy contains six basic schools of thought called Astikas. These are orthodox thoughts based on accepting the Vedas as ultimate authority.

Purva Mimamsa school of thought believe that true knowledge is self evidently proven and facts of Vedas and is practiced by present day minority and forms basis of modern day ritualism.Yoga is another school of thought who believes that integration of body, spirit and mind. They also believe in meditation and practice the same to attain the spiritual objectives. Uttra Mimamsa is another school of thought in Hindu religion that forms the central pillar of this religion......
