Essay on Christian Theology
The noetic and systematic study of religion and its influences, to describe the nature of religious truth is defined as theology. It mainly consists of the beliefs and the norms, which have been made by the religious scholars. The Christian theology is the representative of the beliefs and customs, which are made for the Christians on the whole. It is the duty of a Christian to obey these rules as they have been described and explicated for the Christians to follow.
Theology is also referred to as a systematic study wherein the nature of God is studied.
The relationship between the God and the human being is closely observed, hence the Christian theology has also kept this point into consideration and the theologists have included the relative viewpoints, which has eventually formed the basic beliefs of Christians. The Christian theology was not developed in just one day but many theologists worked hard to observe the real findings and after observing the real facts they consulted with one another. The relative views were then discussed at length amongst the theologists. Researches show that “Fundamental theological issues surface with the possibility, probability, or existence of other intelligent creatures”(O’Meara). The knowledge of the basic concepts of a religion is generally gained after studying its theology in depth.
Therefore, the Christian theology should also be given due importance so that the Christians can practice the beliefs which has been described in the Christian theology. Due to the understanding of the components of theology an individual gets a direction to spend life accordingly therefore it is imperative to learn the doctrines of Christian theology. Leading a life without direction is truly aimless; theology is responsible to generate a sense of direction for the individual.
