Essay on Negative Effects of Teenage Pregnancy
The teen-age pregnancy is one of the leading social problems of the developed societies. It is estimated that in America alone the number of forty percent of ten teenage girls conceive before the age of 20 years and the total numbers of the teen-age girls in one year is around one million [David Poponeo]. The teenage pregnancies have now become a common feature in the western and American societies. In spite of the freedom of social life the teenage pregnancies generally are not well accepted. The children being father less.
The free sex relations make the young girls pregnant. The ultimate cause of the teenage pregnancies is certainly unprotected intercourse. At most of the time the girls do not even know that they have conceived. This is because of the irregular periods they pass through. After girls conceive some of them decide to discontinue the pregnancy and some decide to choose to give the child for adoption. In both the cases the decision remains of the mother. What ever is the decision the whole affair is full of effects and negative effects are considered to be more.
Effects
The teenage pregnancies always leave a large amount of social implications. A large number of young girls leave the school education and commit them self in parenting the children. These girls don’t complete their education and thus remain jobless in their future life. In case some girls want to complete their left education it becomes problem for them to meet the pace of the education. The biggest social problem is that most of these young girls remain as a single mother and the absence of father is felt through out the time of parenting.
