Essay on Romans 6- Dead to Sin, Alive to Christ
In Romans 6, the Holy Bible is teaching us to turn away from a life of sin and to strive for an everlasting existence with Christ. A question is asked in verse 1 of chapter 6, Romans of the Holy Bible, "Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?" This is a question that is needed to be asked whenever the Bible is studied and preached. The Gospel is asking mankind to turn away from a life of sin and it is asked as to why humanity should continue in its sinful ways and depend on the mercy of the divine when a righteous life.
It is made clear that no matter how great a sin is and how serious a transgression that has been committed, the mercy and grace of God awaits all of us. But is it right that the life of sin should be continued and mankind should depend on the grace of God in order to right the wrongs, or is it more appropriate that man should try to turn away from sin and lead a righteous life so as not to depend excessively on God’s never ending mercy. It is more appropriate and graceful to live righteously then to beg for forgiveness from God and depend on his grace.
In this paper, an attempt is made to look at the verses and try to understand the meaning because although faith is the most important ingredient and mankind should have faith and depend on the grace and mercy of God, an effort should also be made to turn away from sin.Interpretation of Romans 6- Dead to Sin, Alive to ChristThe verses of Romans 6 appeal to mankind’s experience of being forgiven for sins.
