When I entered my final year of graduation, I didn't know that, that year would prove to be the most memorable of all. The entire year I lived on cloud 9 because I was not only excelling in all my subjects but I became best friends with someone whom I had adored from a distance. The reality was way better than the fantasy. I somehow stepped into situations where only the two of us would be together, and in those situations I realized how well we bonded. Our similarities and differences made us two halves of the same picture and that was what made us a match made in heaven.
He was very photogenic with a million dollar smile and the best part was that I would always have my camera with me. Even though we just have a few pictures together, I have tons and tons of his pictures. What I like most about him was the way we could talk; the better part was how well we understood each other. He would give up afternoons just because I would want some tutoring in subjects. I knew that if I was upset over something, he'd be there for me, even if it was at late hours; I could always depend on him to be there.
The saddest bit was that he was already engaged to someone else. I respected that, but the excitement never died every time he came online, called or emailed me. It has been months since I saw him or heard from him, but on those moments when I took his pictures, it reminds me of how just few months back someone had come along, stayed, had made me happy and had gracefully left. That time of year will stay with me forever, and if I was asked to, I'd love to relive it all over again.
