The purpose of this report is to write "Why should we go to Mars?" I have read the article published by Scientific American "Why Go to Mars?" including many others for the purpose of my research and this paper and there are many scientific and other benefits which are included in the package of going to Mars. Introduction
It's been quite a centuries now since humans have been risking their life and venturing into places such as moon for the reasons that were economic and nationalistic. Take for example Christopher Columbus he went out to search and discovered America, Lewis and Clark journeyed into the American wilderness to find out what the U.S. had acquired in the Louisiana Purchase, and the Apollo astronauts rocketed to the moon in a dramatic flexing of technological muscle during the cold war. (Greene, 2005)
Why go to Mars?
Mars represents our next big step. The Moon has been reached and we may go back there soon but the new frontier, a world rich in natural resources and the most Earthlike in our solar system is Mars. Many plans have been made ranging from 5 to 500 billion on that first expedition to Mars. One of the main reasons of mission to mars is searching for life. It has been shown that microbial colonies can lie dormant for millions of years in harsh conditions like those present on Mars.
