I live in an area with a beautiful, scenic river flowing through a series of gorges. The state has proposed to build a dam on the river creating a huge reservoir, and a hydroelectric plant. Obviously this would completely eradicate the natural area surrounding the river. On the plus side, it would cut my electric bills in half. I support this notion as I feel that reduced bills are more important than having scenic beauty. People are not rich enough to keep on paying electricity bills all their lives.
They msut save their Money for retirement or for sudden emergencies like teh death of a father of cancer or an automobile accident. Taking a life insurance out on their life is not a very viable option anymore. Families have to figure out some way of reducing theri spending so that they have more money to spend on more important things as health care and education. An eco-system does not pay people's bills and scenic beauty does not fill stomachs. An example of one such project is as follows.
