Essay on A Beautiful Mind
In the recent there seems a dearth of good films that can be described as true feasts of entertainment. Director Ron Howard, whose name is synonymous with quality production and high entrainment, created the true story of John Forbes Nash Jr. a brilliant mathematician who falls prey to the deadly disease of schizophrenia. The scholar in the movie is portrayed as a paranoid-schizophrenic from very initial stages of his life. This character is played by Russell Crowe.
Russell Crowe once again has given brilliant performance. And he is almost impossible to differentiate from his other roles. A Beautiful Mind is a masterpiece in many ways. Director Ran Howard has once again reinforced that filmmaking is not just commercial; it is much deeper than this.
As the movie opens, a young John Nash, acted by Russell Crowe, arrives at the University on an esteemed scholarship. At once, his odd, quirky and unsympathetically direct manner distinguishes him from other students. Nash seems to be reserves and keeps to himself until he his new roommate Charles which is acted by Paul Bettany arrives and instills in him energy and enthusiasm of life.
Meanwhile, Nash in his own world oblivion of everything around him tries to search for his idea; the idea that will make him successful, and will make him influential and famous in the intellectual circle. However, when he does comes across this idea he is assigned a secret mission. In this course he meets beautiful women, named Alicia which is played by Jennifer Connelly. Alicia after meeting with Nash is instantly fascinated by his peculiar but brilliant behavior. But at this point Nash's world changes and his illness throws him in a world of chaos.
In order to feel the depth of the story, it is important for the viewer to understand Nash; to sympathize with him....
