The term "abortion" actually refers to any premature expulsion of a human fetus, whether naturally, as in a miscarriage, or artificially induced as in a surgical or medical abortion (Joanna, 1996).

The issue of abortion often ends up in a heated debate between the pro-life and the pro-choice without any conclusion. What pro-life supporters argue is that abortion is taking an innocent life for no reason and is similar to murder, where as the pro-choice advocates do not see abortion as taking innocent lives, but as a beneficial medical procedure. It’s a procedure that empowers the women to make decisions that put them in control of their sexual decisions like never before (David, 2002). But before I make my argument in favor of the pro-choice, I need to explore the pro-life arguments and the consideration they put to abortion. Then only I can explain my viewpoint giving an example.

The essence of the argument for or against abortion revolves on this single question of when the life is conceptualized (Eva, 2000). If life begins at conception, then taking that life after conception is murder, but if life begins at birth or later, then abortion cannot be demurred on grounds of murder.
