Bipolar disorder (also known as manic-depressive disorder) is a mental condition in which the person alternates between feelings of mania and depression. On the surface, bipolar disorder that seems to affect almost all people in their daily lives. But in reality bipolar disorder is perhaps one of the most tragic mood disorders’ and in extreme cases the patients may even commit suicide. Real and tragic as this condition is, it is not recognized as an illness, and it takes years for the patients to be diagnosed and treated for this ailment.
Bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness characterized by recurrent episodes of depression, mania, and/or mixed symptom states. These episodes cause unusual and extreme shifts in mood, energy, and behavior that interfere significantly with normal, healthy functioning.
