What may be as important as the amount of adiposity is the distribution of body fat. Abdominal fat is associated with an increased risk of chronic diseases. Accordingly, an increased waist-to-hip circumference ratio is associated with an increased chronic disease risk. The waist-to-hip circumference ratios are higher in Black than in White, especially in middle age. Waist-to-hip circumference ratios are minor difference in Black and White males before age 65.........
