Abstract
Smoking is already a major contributor to coronary heart disease (CHD) incidence in men, and it promises to be an increasingly serious risk factor for CHD as increasing numbers of men as well as women worldwide begin to smoke at ever-younger ages. In this report we have discussed smoking effects the heart to great extent. We have given evidence of its adverse effect by citing different researches. We have also presented tables that show percentage of heart disease and its due factors. In the recommendation section we have proposed different treatment patterns that really work to prevent smoking habit.

Introduction
Smoking is "the most important preventable health problem in the world." Surely, the logic goes, had we understood many years ago the ghastly toll on health and lives taken by tobacco, steps would have been taken by governments everywhere to ban the weed, to outlaw it, to criminalize its growth, possession, and use. Still, nothing like this happened (except in a few isolated incidents), and tens of millions of people smoke, sniff, or chew tobacco products around the world.

Smoking causes 417,000 deaths each year (American Heart Association, 1998). The risk for stroke decreases among those who quit smoking and approaches that of nonsmokers in about 5 years (Sacco, 1998). Practitioners need to be familiar with various smoking cessation programs and tools to be prepared to help the patient with this difficult task. There are two addictions associated with smoking: the response behavior and the nicotine. A patient who has smoked less than half a pack a day (10 cigarettes) may not require much more than moral support and assistance in substituting a different, healthier habit when the smoking "trigger" occurs.
