The article, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder: A Review of the Past 10 Years, Part II written by Burke and Loeber and Birmaher is an article which combines and tries to seek out the consequences of research done in previous years. It is the second part of a similar research done previously.
Oppositional and conduct disorders is viewed as a heterogeneous combination and collection of severe disruptive behaviors. These disruptive behaviors are connected with a range and degrees of a very diverse set of risk factors. Moreover these disruptive behaviors are also characterized by their varying outcomes.
The objective of the paper was to review and hence find a conclusion based on all the empirical research and findings done by scholars on the subject of oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and conduct disorder (CD) over the span of ten years.
The methodology adopted by the authors was to select and explore and then summarize the literature on oppositional defiant disorder and conduct disorder over a decade. The authors have tried to establish a link between the literature available with the various factors and risk that cause ODD and CD. Moreover, the authors have also outlined the results of these literature, underlining the development in the research done on ODD and CD.
The outcomes of the paper established that the research done on ODD and CD over the past ten years has basically concerned with the complexity that is involved in recognizing and distinguishing all the primary risk issues. Moreover, it is also concerned with determining the developmental channels and trails, which lead to disruptive behavior disorders (DBD).
Many of the research on the ODD have changed and evolved over the past ten years under study. In many of the aspects research has clearly advanced, perhaps because of the new technology and techniques available to the researchers...............
