Even though we know that drug usage is the increasing problem in the youth today especially among the 8th – 12th graders but there have been enormous changes in this common tradition.
Results clearly show that school children are starting to realize now that how these drugs would affect them. Hence they are significantly decreasing their amount of usage of these routine drugs. For example according to the data collected by MTF, 8th graders and 10th graders have realized the negative impacts of high usage of marijuana and they clearly know now that trying marijuana once or twice or smoking it on daily basis would cause them severe harm.
The findings clearly proved that even the use of steroids have decreased significantly among 8th-graders, from 1.4 percent in 2003 to 1.1 percent in 2004 (NIDA InfoFacts, 2004) for annual use which is a good sign because it identifies the fact that the youth of our country are coming back to the point where they have started to realize their needs and wants and are understanding the fact that all these drug addictions will not help them in the future infact will completely ruin it in a terrible manner................
