Socialization is a process by which humans learn the behaviors and beliefs appropriate for their social surroundings. Through the reactions and expectations of the social world we acquire our humanness. Without the shaping by other people, our human potential remains unfulfilled. Thus attention is the main ingredient of our socialization.
As name suggests Antisocial Personality Disorder (APD) is a personality disorder of deprivation about one’s existing social relations. In APD, a person feels deprived of a network of friends or relatives; in emotional isolation, a person feels deprived of a single, intense relationship. These two kinds of loneliness share a common emotional core, and there is some debate about how clearly they can be distinguished (Russell et al., 1984). Either one can be momentary or a long-lasting characteristic of the individual. They are withdrawn and ineffective in social interactions, perhaps because they perceive negative reactions even where there are none. In fact, however, other people often do react negatively to interactions with socially anxious individuals. Feelings of social discomfort can arise from a number of sources. They can be a learned reaction of to unpleasant encounters, as social problems in the past contribute to social anxiety about the future. According to the Statistics almost 1% of women and 3% of men are affected with Antisocial Personality Disorder.

More recent research links neglect to a constellation of problem behaviors such as aggression, avoidance, fewer pro-social behaviors, different personality disorders and lower self-esteem (Kaufman and Cicchetti, 1989).
