I. Description Of Disease
Alzheimer disease is one of those diseases, which strikes the brain nerves. Alzheimer disease can strike anyone no matter of what age group he/she belongs to. But analysis and researches reveal that most of the people of older ages are mostly caught by the disease known as Alzheimer or it is also called as a dementing disorder. This disease normally stops the mental and physical activities of a person. “AD usually occurs in old age, and is marked by a decline in cognitive functions such as remembering, reasoning, and planning” (Rowland). Analyses have shown that millions of people in America are being trapped into this dangerous disease and they have started losing control of their brain. They are simply out of their normal routine life and are now mostly dependent on others for their survival. Initially the symptoms of this disease are not obvious as such but gradually considerable differences occur in the activities of the affected individual. Forgetfulness is the main symptom of the disease, which becomes obvious and the affected individual starts forgetting the names of even close relatives and friends. Loss of memory, loss of calculation skills and loss of language skills are the most important signs of the disease. This disease mostly occurs after the age of sixty, which is followed by slow and gradual decline of cognition and memory.
One of the recent examples is of Sir Ronald Reagan who was the victim of Alzheimer disease. The readings about his life history shows that the symptoms of Alzheimer disease started right after the age of sixty and he took many treatments for the disease.
