Cerebrum is the prime part of the brain, comprised of the two cerebral hemispheres; liable for the direct of decisive glide movement, language, aptitude, reminiscence, feelings, and sensory doling out. Most elevated brain functions take place in the cerebrum. Its two big hemispheres make up just about 85 percent of the brain's mass.
The outside surface of the cerebrum, the cerebral cortex, is drawn-out, or folded, grayish layer of cell bodies known as the gray matter. The gray matter covers an underlying mass of fibers called the white matter. The convolutions are made up of ridge like bulges, known as gyri, separated by small grooves called sulci and larger grooves called fissures. More or less two-thirds of the cortical surface is hidden in the folds of the sulci. The extensive convolutions enable a very large surface area of brain cortex about 1.5 m2 (16 ft2) in an adult to fit within the cranium. The prototype of these convolutions is analogous, although not equal, in all humans.
The cerebrum makes up about 85 per cent of the weight of the human brain. A hefty channel called the longitudinal fissure divides the cerebrum into halves called the left cerebral hemisphere and the right cerebral hemisphere. The hemispheres are linked by bundles of nerve fibers, the prevalent of which is the corpus callosum. The two cerebral hemispheres are to some extent divided from each other by a deep fold known as the longitudinal fissure. Communication amid the two hemispheres is from beginning to end numerous intense bundles of axons, called commissures, the largest of which is the corpus callosum.
