Attention deficit disorder (ADD) is a neurobiological malfunctioning of the brain and central nervous system that causes extraordinary impulsiveness, distractibility, lack of concentration, and, in some cases, hyperactivity. It is treated most commonly with stimulants such as Ritalin.
