Sexual orientation is one of the four mechanisms of sexuality and is illustrious by a long-term emotional, romantic, sexual desirability to individual of a particular sex. Sexual orientation that are usually renowned are homosexual, appeal to persons of one’s own gender; heterosexual, appeal to individuals of the other sex; or bisexual, appeal to members of both gender.
“People with a homosexual course are at times referred to as gay comprising both men and women or as lesbian that are women simply”. (Lieberman, 2002)
It is a lasting arousing, romantic, sexual or warmth desirability towards another person. It is simply eminent from other parts of sexuality comprising biological sex, gender identity and the social gender role observance to cultural customs for feminine and masculine performance.
However, many analysts believe that biological perspective is not at all concern with sexual orientation. I believe that sexual orientation per se is not coded in genetics, in brain neuroanatomy or in prenatal hormones. Rather, biology influences childhood temperaments and the preferences that lead us to feel different from either opposite-sex or same-sex peers and to perceive them as exotic. Though I believe, the significance of biological influences on sexual orientation is fervently debated that’s why I have chosen biological perspective of sexual orientation development. The biological elucidation has been gaining recognition among the scientific society though it is simply found on conjectures. It is disagreed that sexual orientation is associated to issues that take place throughout sexual differentiation. The prenatal revelation to androgens and their influence on the development of the human brain take part in a fundamental role in sexual orientation.
