Whether new to the field or an industry veteran, all managers have run into challenging and sticky situations. Often, no matter what manger’s skill level or how many times he/she has implemented a particular system, it seems that unexpected obstacles surface when he/she least expects them and negatively affect not only the project timeline, but also good standing with the customer. Through much trail and error, experimentation and, yes, even some failure, my project team has developed a few simple steps to prevent -- or at least ease the pain of – crises associated with such obstacles.
