The family is a term widely used for people living together. The family commences its roots from marriage. The marriage is primarily accepting the opposite genders to live together under accepted terms. The two genders when accept to be partners only to each other the relations start developing which form basis of a society [The compendium of the social doctrine]. The role of the love that is based on respect and emotions form the very essential aspect of the family structure. This structure differentiates the humans from animals. The marriages in turn developed the binding structures of a family in form of parents and children. The training of the off shoots by the parents and living together has been an ancient concept. The family just doesn’t mean living together but is considered to be caring for each other in the morals and values developed by living together. The American society has also been part of the family structure for humans as rest of the world. However the social structure started getting dismantled for the last few decades in the wake of reforms of social life.
The fact that the American family will no longer exist by the end of the century looks very much a fact. This is because of number of reasons. Firstly the beginning of the feminist movements in 60’s and 70’s that caused the women to leave for the jobs contributed considerably towards destruction of the American family system. This resulted in diminishing the parenting rights because of the separations between the parents. The non-parents started sharing the financial responsibilities for development of the children damaging the very core of the family.
