Overview:
This paper considers the implications of stress conditions for women in the Forces serving at different positions in the Army, with a particular focus on the stress on women at leadership positions. In other words the barriers and the discrimination faced by the women in reaching above a specified level. A consolidating review of related literature would also be provided to define the key concepts that should be kept in mind while considering the stress faced by women at different positions in Forces. In this lieu we will discuss the following different points briefly: The current environment (especially after the incident of 9/11 and the key challenges currently faced by the Forces this new environment poses. Second, the challenges are faced in development and training by the women that follow from these environmental changes and new challenges being faced by them as leaders. What are the qualities and strengths of a leader without sex discrimination.
Later on we will review where the women and other designated groups currently stand in terms of representation in different positions within the Military. The hurdles and the opposition faced by them are also reviewed. Further a discussion on hiring decisions, performance evaluations, and promotion decisions as women progress through the ranks toward positions of leadership is presented. The last but not least a discussion on the family and Social pressure exerted on women in performing their duties is also presented. Finally some suggestions are also given as to how these women can deal these pressures and make both the ends (The Family and the job) meet.
