Introduction
A social service program that is in effect in most states, which is designed to keep families together by providing support and intervention services to children and families in their home, where the family unit can be observed, evaluated and treated together. It is based on the premise that birth families are the preferred means of providing family life for children, whenever that is possible.
Advertising campaign
The newspaper advertisement that I am reviewing relating to the family preservation is related to the child foster care. This is what was written on the advertisement:
“Today’s Foster Care is the best it has ever been. Still, there remains an urgent need for foster parents who can care for teenagers, brothers and sisters, and children with special medical or physical needs. Today’s Foster Care is very rewarding. Now children remain in their own communities close to home, school, friends, doctors and clergy. Plus new training, services and programs are available right in the neighborhood to provide foster parents and children with the support they need.
Make a difference... open your heart and home.”
The nature of this advertising is that it is promoting the need of the foster care and the fact that how important it is for the children that they should get the foster parents who can provide these children with education, proper shelter, care, medical and physical needs. The idea that this ad is trying to promote is first pointing out Children are placed in foster care for a number of reasons. Some are being protected from abuse at home; others have been neglected by their parents, or have parents who are unable to take care of them. A small percentage of children are in foster care because their parents feel unable to control them, and their behavior.......
