For several decades drugs have been one of the major global problems. Tribulations caused by Drugs are so wide that it was proscribe ethically, religiously, socially and legally. This was a rational and beneficial consideration, as substances such as these can be addictive, mind-altering, and in some cases lethal. At present, in most of the countries, many different drugs such as cocaine, heroin, crack, ice and marijuana are illegal. But with the passage of time ethics and laws are being measured and argued over. One of such issues is the legalization of drugs.
It is clear that most of the serious problems the public associates with illegal drug use are, in reality, caused directly or indirectly by drug prohibition. One controversial solution is the proposal of legalizing drugs (Ostrowski, 1999). Although people feel that legalizing drugs would lessen crime, but there would be an increase of drug abuse and a rapid increase of diseases such as AIDS. So what should be done to reduce the crime rate it should be legalized or it should remain illegal to avoid the increase in drug abuse n AIDS.
