Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Counseling is a very important for minorities especially when it comes to a work place. It is important as it provides job freedom to everyone. It gives the blacks and the white, the men and the women equal rights to attain employment. Other then just attaining employment, it also helps women from being discriminated while on job. A workplace that promotes in EO/AA does not discriminate on the basis of gender, handicap, race, age, color, sexual orientation, political affiliation, marital status, national origin, or religion. They encourage all qualified men and women to apply and every one gets and equal chance.
Prevention of Sexual Harassment
Sexual Harassment is a form of sex bigotry and is termed illegal in the work place. The laws are strictly against discrimination of such sort and provide complete protection to the citizens against it.
Sexual harassment is a violation of both federal and state statute. Harassment on the basis of sex is a violation of Section 703 Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. Sec. 2000e et seq.) as amended. “Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when (1) submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual's employment, (2) submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions affecting such individual, or (3) such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual's work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment.”
Sexual harassment means persistent, repetitive, or highly egregious conduct directed at a specific individual or group of individuals that a reasonable person would interpret as intentional harassment of a sexual.......
